Given the importance of environmental awareness from an early age, basic education is a crucial phase in instilling values and attitudes of caring for the environment. Social studies, as a subject that covers social, economic, and environmental aspects, has great potential in shaping students' character and environmental insights. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and in-depth literature studies. The results of the study show that social studies learning that integrates environmental issues can increase students' understanding and awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. Some strategies that have proven effective include the use of interactive learning media, group discussion methods, and environment-based projects. This learning not only improves students' factual knowledge, but also forms a sustainable mindset and behavior in maintaining the ecosystem. This study concludes that the integration of environmental materials in social studies learning is an effective approach to build environmental awareness in grade 4 students, and recommends the development of a curriculum that emphasizes more on environmental issues as well as training for teachers in using innovative learning methods.
2024-08-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Pena Edukasiahttps://journal.cvsupernova.com/index.php/pe/article/view/99Literature Review History Social Science 2024-05-11T07:52:36+00:00Sriyatunhasyya625@gmail.com
Social Sciences (Social Sciences) comes from United States educational literature. In English IPS is defined as "Social Studies." This term was first used as the name of an institution called the Committee of Social Studies. Social science was born in the 17th and 18th centuries by Habbes and Locke from 1920-1930. The history of social science focused on the impact of violations. From 1930 to 1940, various consequences of depression as a result of crime arose. The method used in the journal is a literature review taken from articles from 1998 to 2022. The definition of social studies according to Edgar Bruce Wesley in 1937 (Barr, Bart and Shermis, 1977:2), namely: The social studies are the social sciences simplified for pedagogical purposes” Social Sciences are simplified for educational purposes. Which includes aspects, such as science, history, economics, politics, sociology, anthropology, psychology, geography and philosophy, which are practically used in learning in schools and universities. The research used a literature review in four journals from 2018 to 2023. The connection between the history of social sciences and social science learning in schools needs to be understood that the bond between history and social sciences cannot be broken. Basically, history is a diachronic science. The meaning of this is that the knowledge is presented lengthwise over time and narrowly over space. On the other hand, social science is a synchronic science. The meaning of this is that knowledge is described as narrowing over time and expanding over space.
2024-08-06T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Pena Edukasiahttps://journal.cvsupernova.com/index.php/pe/article/view/107Konsep Dasar Sejarah Membentuk Karakter Serta Integrasinya Pada Pelajaran IPS di Sekolah Dasar 2024-05-11T07:56:32+00:00Rafika Nuriafurinuriafuri81@gmail.com
History serves as a crucial pillar in comprehending the long journey of human civilization. Using media in teaching can assist students in the learning process. In learning, media is an essential aspect of conveying information from educators to learners. The use of media in learning will enable the concepts or subject matter studied by students to be more easily understood. In this context, diorama is chosen as a teaching media because of its ability to present information visually and comprehensively. The purpose of using diorama is to facilitate students' understanding of various economic activities that occur around them, such as agriculture, trade, or local crafts. The theoretical approach used in the development of this diorama media includes constructivist learning theory, where students are encouraged to build their own understanding through direct experience and reflection. Additionally, visual learning theory also forms the basis, as diorama provides strong visual representations to help students better understand economic concepts. The steps in developing this diorama media include identifying learning objectives, analyzing student needs, designing a diorama concept that aligns with the curriculum, as well as implementing and evaluating the use of diorama in teaching. With this approach, it is hoped that the diorama media can become an effective tool in enhancing students' understanding of relevant economic concepts within their environment.
2024-08-08T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Pena Edukasiahttps://journal.cvsupernova.com/index.php/pe/article/view/136Penerapan Konsep Sosiologis Di Sekolah Dasar 2024-06-21T10:27:10+00:00Triyonotriyono.126@admin.sd.belajar.idIin Purnamasariiinpurnamasari@upgris.ac.id
Background: This research aims to determine the application of sociological science in the elementary school environment.
